Summer is upon us and the
youth group is having a blast! In May we had a Kayak
Demo Day at Balboa Beach and our first Lock-In. We had 31
students who spent the night at Mountainside Church and then
held a car wash the following morning from 9-11 am to raise
funds for the Mission Trip. The youth raised $390 for 2
hours of
car washing!
On June 13 we will be leaving on our Mission Trip.
The group will be traveling to Myrtle Beach, SC to meet with
other
youth groups from around the USA to work with the
needy and the elderly. Most of what we will be doing is
showing God's love through service projects. They will get
a free day to enjoy the area attractions and the beach.
On June 10th we are planning to Kayak the
Caddo River
if the conditions of the river are acceptable.
June 24 - 27 is "Chrysalis". This is the youth
version of "Walk to Emmaus" and any youth grades 10 - 12 are
able to participate. Did you know we now have over 13
students involved in worship? There are actually 2 bands
and we hope to set up a concert in the parking lot over the
Summer. On
July 14-17 we will have a group going to Assembly
which is a 3-day Methodist youth rally held on the campus of
Hendrix College in Conway. We continue to see many
new faces at our bi-weekly get-togethers. If you have any

All youth are invited to participate in youth fellowship. We meet
every Sunday from 5:30 p.m. at different Methodist churches in Hot
Springs Village
